The Inspiration
Since 2005, Eric Tenin has been posting daily photographs of his home city of Paris–Paris Daily Photo. Inspired by the beauty of the city, vivaciousness and artistry of its people, and the love of his work, Tenin has published over 2000 photographs classified under categories such as typical Paris, unusual, restaurants, must see, museum, monument, food, Eifel Tower, exhibitions, and window displays. The idea has spread to other photographers in their own cities all over the world. Eric Tenin’s site has had 94,000 viewings in just the last 30 days and has founded the City Daily Photo community!
On May 11th 2005, MarieMcCarthy accepted the challenge for Alexandria, Virginia creating Alexandria Daily Photo. Her focus is on the architecture and the people. She walks through the seasons with her camera beginning in May 11th 2005 through to May 5th 2006. Although she moved on to other adventures at the end of the year, her photography still brings viewers today with over 190,000 viewings.
Standing on the shoulders of giants, I aim to post one photo of Alexandria each day.
